Bacon Shoyu Miso Tare

One of the components of a bowl of ramen, tare is the flavor base that is mixed with the broth when the dish is served to define the flavor of the ramen.

  1. Combine all elements in a saucepan over low heat

  2. Simmer the ingredients on the lowest heat, stirring well so that the miso gets integrated into everything else and it becomes almost like a barbeque sauce consistency

  3. After its simmered for an hour or so, remove from the heat and strain into a container to store in the fridge until its time to make the ramen
